    Officers will soon begin transporting the device to a facility in Rodman's Neck, Bronx. Traffic may be closed off along the route.

    User nicholasf shows a Total Containment Vessel (TCV) on the scene outside the building. The TCV is used to safely transport potentially explosive material.

    All non-specialty units have been asked to clear the area.
  • 1:23:24 pm
    The confirmed suspicious package was discovered at the U.S. Postal Service at 322 W 52nd St approximately one hour ago. An NYPD investigation is underway.

    Early reports indicate the package is addressed to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
  • 12:48:05 pm
    The block of 51st St between 8th and 9th Avenues is being shut down while the investigation continues.

    The FDNY's Rescue Task Force is on the scene.

    Police have called a Level 1 Mobilization in regards to the confirmed suspicious package.
