Abducted Child Found Safe in Stolen Vehicle

Summary
- Monday, 8/5/2019, 6:45 PM: A statewide search began after a 29-year-old woman had her vehicle stolen with her one-year-old son left inside. Police said that an unidentified man had been captured on surveillance video entering the vehicle and fleeing northbound on Kingston Avenue.
- Around 7:10 PM, officers were told to be on the lookout for a white Mitsubishi Outlander. The vehicle’s description and license plate were broadcast every fifteen minutes to NYPD units across Brooklyn. A statewide AMBER alert was soon called, and a two-hour search ensued.

- Just after 9 PM, officers reported finding the stolen car at Park Place & Ralph Avenue. The suspect had fled from the vehicle in an unknown direction. Units quickly confirmed that the child was inside. EMS responded to evaluate him, and the boy was soon reunited with his family.
- News coverage of the incident revealed that people from the nearby community flagged down officers when they noticed the vehicle. They reported making the connection after seeing Citizen App’s alert and the AMBER alert. On August 22nd, the NYPD announced that they arrested a 17-year-old male and charged him for the incident.

I enjoyed the lock down. There was less Crime. Now crime is starting to increase again. Some folks still need to be on lock down.
